Grudges

Beast Fables - Comic 86 - Tirel, the french chef appears, and everyone is happy.

Medieval Moment: I can’t blame Chaunti for his dislike of the French. That was a pretty common refrain throughout most of the 14th and 15th centuries, during a teensy conflict history likes to call “The Hundred Years’ War”. The best way to sum up the mood of the entire thing is bitter rivals, and France and England were constantly warring for European supremacy. There were too many skirmishes to list here, but sufficed to say the two countries didn’t really get along for a long while afterwards and there’s still a little bit of bad blood to this day.
